SUMMARY:Messy Church - Messy Lord's Prayer
DESCRIPTION:Messy Church at 4pm on Sunday 28th September starts our Christ Church week of prayer and lots of fun crafts on the theme will be available to those young and old. Messy Church starts with crafts for just over an hour\, followed by a short worship session and then a party-style tea. Donations are invited to help cover costs but are optional. SUMMARY:Week of Prayer
DESCRIPTION:From Sunday the 28th of September to Saturday the 4th of October we will hold a ‘Christ Church week of prayer’. Although full details are yet to be finalised it will start with Messy Church at 4:00 PM on the 28th of September when the theme will be prayer and we can expect some stimulating aids for our prayers over the coming week. \nOther activities for other days will include different methods of praying including lectio divina and the return of ‘Solace’\, a Taize service\, a prayer walk with a guide to praying walking the labyrinth\, a book club special ‘prayer and share’ evening where anyone can bring along and read their favourite prayer and share it with the rest of the group\, and hopefully a session on ‘listening in prayer’ \nThe Watsap prayer group was introduced at the start of the ‘lockdown’ with a 15 minute slot at 9pm when people came together for on-line prayer\, this was a wonderful opportunity for sharing concerns and prayers\, so we hope to reintroduce similar times of coming together in prayer on the site during the week of prayer. \nA special booklet/guide will be produced and distributed to each person and also made available to any visitor or passer-by\, recognising the fact that many may prefer to follow their week alone and in the comfort of their own time and space. \nAll will be encouraged to end each day with an Examine prayer\, where at the end of the day one finds a quiet and comfortable place for 15 to 20 minutes to reflect with God on the events of the day
